Putin: 'The resolution UN is like a medieval appeal to a cross'

El primer ministro ruso ha sido muy contundente en su condena a Western reaction to Libya: "The UN resolution seems medieval," he said.

Vladimir Putin has compared the text with the calls of the medieval crusades. "The resolution is flawed and erroneous" he said during a visit to a factory in Russia's ballistic missiles. "Everything is allowed. It resembles the call of the medieval crusades."

Putin said that if you read the content of the resolution, "is absolutely clear that allows everyone to take any action against a sovereign state ." More critical

Since the beginning of the allied operation in the Muslim country, Russia has distanced himself and criticized the bombing of strategic targets like bridges. "These air strikes are not covered by the latest UN resolution," said dominfo the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow. "We regret this armed intervention under the UN resolution 1973 which was passed in haste."

The resolution was intended to protect civilians, but the air strikes on bridges and other purely military targets and not left at least 48 civilians dead, according to Libyan officials.

In this sense, this Monday, Russia's ambassador to NATO, Dmitri Rogozin said that the actions of member countries participating in NATO military operation against the regime of Muammar al-Gaddafi frames exceed the resolution of the Security Council of the UN. "I think the attacks against facilities that have nothing to do with aviation, including anti-aircraft defenses, airfields, air targets, get out of the stated objectives and may not correspond with the Security Council resolution."

Low has served the call that the U.S. defense secretary, Robert Gates , who called on Russia to consider participating in international coalitions.
